Process Improvement

Kathleen helps work groups improve or redesign their processes quickly using an Accelerated Improvement process. This fast-track approach from the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Office of Quality Improvement requires some prework by a group of 2-3 people and two meetings of a larger group charged with improving or redesigning the process.

Improvement can be seen in a variety of ways:

  • Reduced time
  • Fewer errors
  • Fewer complaints
  • Less waste
  • Increased consistency
  • Added service
  • Increased user satisfaction
  • Increased staff satisfaction

Guaranteeing only two meetings helps to get the right people to the table. A decision-maker is much more likely to commit to two meetings than to an open-ended process which could take many months. Accelerated Improvement works well for designing new processes also.
